WRTA (advanced) - Whitewater Rescue Technician Advanced
Course for those who work in rivers and gorges and kayakers on self-supporting expeditions.
WRTA runs over 4 days, with an evening/night scenario. The course is the next step from WRT-PRO.
In a busy river with challenging terrain, the consequences of swimming can be great.
We look at tactics and techniques to minimize risk using horizontal and vertical evacuation and rescue techniques. “Hands on” still applies to scenario-based training as much as possible, followed by good dialogues and discussions.
Both personal and group equipment receive a careful review.
WRTA is only offered as a closed river rescue course.
